Various centers worldwide have been setting up studies to gather such evidence, but they are hindered by a lack of consensus on how to achieve this.

A first event, called “Building Evidence for 3D Printing Applications in Medicine” is going to take place in Orlando, Florida on 19-20 May. This event is hosted by SME and will bring together major players in the 3D Printing industry, as well as key representatives from the medical industry in order to establish a common set of guidelines, which will benefit the industry and ultimately (and most importantly of all) the patients themselves.
