Since 2005, Materialise has put the spotlight on researchers and their groundbreaking work. This is done every year through the Mimics Innovation Awards. We will announce this year’s European winners on July 12th, at the 22nd Congress of the European Society of Biomechanics (ESB). Candidates were evaluated in collaboration with the ESB.

Mimics Innovation Awards 2016 Finalists

The four finalists will present their research during the Mimics Innovation Awards 2016, on July 12th from 16:30PM to 17:30PM.

• Marco A. Marra, M.Sc. from the Orthopaedic Research Laboratory, Radboud University Medical Center will present on “A subject-specific musculoskeletal modeling framework to predict in vivo mechanics of total knee arthroplasty”.

• Dr Sasa Cukovic from the Mechanical Engineering Department, University of Kragujevac will present on “From generic to the patient specific 3D model of the spine in case of Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis (AIS)”.

• Prof. Charlotte Debbaut from Ghent University will present on “A multilevel framework to reconstruct anatomical 3D models of the hepatic vasculature in rat livers”.

• Samuel J. Ramos from Mechanical Engineering Department of University of Zaragoza will present on “Insilico characterization of open-cell structures for trabecular bone”.

EMEA winners will receive a monetary prize. Furthermore, they will get a certificate for their accomplishments, during the Gala Dinner Ceremony. Finally, together with the winners of the Americas and Asia-Pacific regions, they will have the chance to win the global Mimics Innovation Awards later in the year.
