Henry Ford Health System Introduces 3D Planning to Interventional Cardiology
Dee Dee Wang, MD, FACC, FASE, FSCCT, Henry Ford Health System, Detroit, USA
In this recording, Dr. Wang from the Henry Ford Health System is speaking at the Materialise World Summit in Brussels. During her talk, she shares how the Henry Ford Health System introduced 3D planning derived from CT scans to their structural heart procedures and more specifically, transcatheter mitral valve replacement (TMVR) therapy.
In this keynote, you will:
Explore why and how Dr. Wang introduced 3D planning to interventional cardiology
Understand the risks of TMVR and appreciate the importance of 3D planning to estimate obstruction of the LVOT
Learn best practices for TMVR pre-procedural planning from Dr. Wang’s pioneering work

Dr. Wang is a Level 3 Cocats trained in echocardiography (with 3D TEE), nuclear, and cardiac CTA; and a Level 2 Cocats trained in cardiac MRI and cardiac PET. She specializes in interventional imaging in structural heart interventions including transcatheter mitral valve replacement therapies, tricuspid interventions, mitral e-clip, complex TAVRs/adult-congenital cases, LAA interventions, and ASD/PFO closures. Dr. Wang’s research interests are focused on advancing patient safety and procedural outcomes utilizing 3D+4D imaging and 3D printing for high-risk structural heart interventions.
