Description of the different steps

  1. Hollow: Select your part(s). Go to Tools >> Hollow. Define the Wall thickness and click on OK.
  2. Perforations: Select your part(s). Go to Tools >> Perforator. Click on the locations where you’d like to apply perforation. You can translate or delete the perforation cap previews. You can enable the Keep Subtracted Parts option to print the perforation caps as separate parts, and to attach them back onto the part after printing. You can add a notch to facilitate reassembly of the caps. When the options are set, click on Apply.
  3. Surface to solid: Select your surface. Go to Tools >> Surface to Solid. Select a Shell Thickness, and a Detail Size, and click on Apply. The former will define the thickness of the solid created, where the latter will define the size of the smallest detail that will be preserved.
  4. Cut or punch: Select your part(s). Go to Tools >> Cut or Punch. To cut through a line, use the Indicate Polyline option. You can enable Round Polyline for rounded corners, and add Clearance to make space for glue for reassembly. Use the Select Teeth Line(s) option to add teeth to the polyline. You can choose among different teeth profiles, and define the size and position. Alternatively, you can take a cross-section view from the View Pages, and apply a cut using the options in the Section tab. Here, you can choose a Basic cut, a Lap joint cut, and a Connector Pins/Holes cut.
  5. Rescale: Select your part(s). Go to Tools >> Rescale. You can define your own rescale factor here, you’ll always see a preview of the result. You can also take a measurement on your part using the Measurement Pages, and enable Match Measurement Mode to rescale your part to meet a desired value for that measurement.
  6. Shrinkwrap: Select your part(s). Go to Fix >> Shrinkwrap. Choose for a global or local shrinkwrap. If you’re applying a local shrinkwrap, use the marking tools to specify the region you’d like to apply Shrinkwrap on. Next, specify your parameters for ‘shrinkwrapping’, and click on Apply.
  7. Labelling: Select your part(s). Go to Tools >> Label. If you’d like to apply a label on a single part, click on Label. Modify your label as rectangular or circular, determine the content of the label, the font family, the font size, and choose for a raised or engraved label, etc. If your label is final, click on Apply as STL. If it’s not final, your label will be automatically saved as planning, and you’ll be able to modify it again until applying it as an STL. If you’d like to apply labels on multiple parts, click on Mass Label. In this menu, you can find options to apply labels based on a counter or on a CSV file for the label content. When you click on Apply as STL, multiple copies of your part with their designed labels will be created.
